A market for the people you follow.

People Markets lets you trade on changing public influence across music, sport, film and other fields. Each listed person has a market price you can trade on rising or falling.

A trade is a financial contract, not ownership of the person or a share of their income. You can lose money; costs and market rules affect the result.

How a trade works

Imagine you follow an artist whose audience is growing. You think their market price could rise. That is a view you can trade on, but it can be wrong.

Hypothetical example · Price starts at 100 points

Choose a direction to see both outcomes.

You expect the price to rise.

100 to 110 pointsThe trade gains before costs.
100 to 90 pointsThe trade loses before costs.

A 10-point move is not a 10% return on your money. The result depends on the contract, trade size, entry and exit prices, and costs. This example assumes the trade stays open.

Where the numbers come from

Outside data provides a reference for changing public relevance. Traders also influence the prices at which contracts change hands. The reference and market price are different values. A music market might use listening data; a sport market might use performance data. Each market needs its own method.

Does more attention always mean a higher price?

No. Traders may already expect a change or respond to other information. A growing audience does not guarantee a profitable trade.

Before You Decide

Know What You Are Trading.

A position is a financial contract. It does not give you ownership of a person, their work or their income.

A market price can move against you. Costs and market rules affect what you gain or lose. A listed person has not necessarily endorsed the market.

Questions before starting

Am I buying a share of someone?

No. Your trade is a financial contract. It gives you no ownership, control or share of the person’s income.

Is this a prediction about one event?

A person market continues over time. An event contract has a specific question and deadline.

Can I lose money even when I know the person’s work well?

Yes. Other traders may price the market differently. Prices can move against you, and costs affect the result.

Does a listing mean the person is involved?

No. A listing does not establish endorsement, partnership or participation by that person.
